when does the year start and finish B.T.S Membership,
or does it start on the day you pay ?

i've seen ads saying re b.smith male loan 50/50 b.t.s rules ,
what rules are they meaning ?

BTS membership starts once your dues and application form have been processed (i.e. it's not the same date for every member).

BTS 50/50 rules refer to captive breeding: i.e. where the person who loans the male get an equal share of any resulting spiderlings from the mating (50% to the male's owner, 50% to the female's owner). Where several different males from different people are used there might be other proportions (often 33:33:33, or 50:25:25 in favour of the female's owner).

BTS membership does not run for one year. It runs for four journals.

If you join the society we try to send you the last journal published. For example if you joined now you would recieve the August Issue Volume 22 no 4. These are ready to go out and we are waiting for the post office to sort themselves out. There is another due in November and then again in February.


Jan, FEB, March ( Spring)
April, MAY, June (Summer)
July, AUG, Sept ( Autumn)
Oct, NOV, Dec ( Winter)

We aim to get them out within this time frame but sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control we run late but rest assured you will recieve FOUR journal throughout your membership.
