Great pics. I too have a G.Pulchra, she's about 4"+ and so cool. The kids have named her velvet as the black hair almost seems a silver grey at times. She's my favourite of all the spiders in my collection. Tell me, as slings and juveniles, are yours greedy eaters? Velvet seems to be getting bigger all the time, no moults yet though. But anything i put in there gets eaten in record time. Locusts and crickets. I've started to restrict her feeding as I'm worried about over feeding her. She can still lift he abdomen of the floor, but it seems twice the size it was than when I bought her about 6 weeks ago. How often do you feed?

                Hi Steve
Pulchra's are a beautiful tarantula. I think they look stunning as adults.

I feed mine 2 crickets twice a week and yip mine are greedy eaters lol. I dropped 3 crickets into my other G. pulchra accidentally the other week and the little sod grabbed all 3 and was looking for more My G. rosea isnt such a good eater though. The L. para will eat 3 per sitting happily.

Here is my little guy now that he has had a chance to harden and darken.

Excellent, looks really good. I note the pinkish tint on the carapace, does that disappear over time? It seems like mine would just eat and eat and eat if I let her. The food barely has time to hit the substrate before she's on top of them. I never get bored of watching them catch there food. Even the slings are great to watch. Can I ask where you got your G.Pulchra from? I'd love to get hold of a juvenile if possible.

Thanks Steve. Yip the pink will go as he grows. At the moment they are only 1 inch and 1.5 inches with the larger of the two looking a lot darker. Eventually he will look like yours, just velvety black all over.

I bought both of mine from Lee at Thespidershop.co.uk back in May when they were only 1cm. I thinkk he recently had adults for sale but hasnt got any at the moment. Keep checking his website because he is always getting new tarantula's in.

I know Lee, top bloke. Been buying most of my T's off him. He gets some real nice ones in. I've had to pull the reigns in. Had 22 slings and juveniles delivered this week. Mostly from Lee. Took 2 hrs to get them into their new homes. I'll have to ask him to put me down for any juveniles he gets in. As I say mine is about 4", can't wait for her to moult. They are a fab spider as you say. Well I hope all goes well with yours and look forward to more top pics. I'll try and get a pic of Velvet at some point.

You definitely cant fault Lee for service. The ones I have bought all arrived in excellent condition.

I look forward to pics of Velvet. Good luck in your quest for a juvenile.
