hmm not sure about making it now. i've checked the trains out and they all want to get me there the night before. if coaches are similarly ridiculous, i'm not optimistic.

yeah sorry James i didn't see your post saying you were in London.
Just had a look on National Rail and there's trains early in the morning from most London stations to Newark North gate at around 38 quid for a return if i understand it correctly (i very rarely use trains so its just a blur of information to me)Don't forget to learn what you can, when you can, where you can.

that's strange, the travel website kept insisting the trains that would get me there before 10ish arrived the night before! maybe i'm just crap at looking...will check again, though.

well i've had a look at nationalrail.co.uk, and there is indeed a train that gets there at 11:20. so i am apparently rubbish at looking for these things!
that may be alright, though i'd prefer to get there earlier.
obviously from my perspective (if there's NO inconvenience at all to anyone else) it would be more fun to get a lift partway there just for the social aspect (plus i could contribute to petrol).

Hi James,
I'm going to confirm with Toren this week when i see him but i would like to be setting off from south Leicester around 10ish or just after to give us an hour or so to get there (just in case of detours / roadworks etc) so if there's an arrival at Leicester train station around 10.15 or so that would be ideal.
no worries about fuel costs, i'm going there anyway...you can get the coffees in when we hit the cafe.
