    tarantulas by mail?

    I know this is a stupid question (but im a curious newbie!)but wont the T"s get stressed or something while at the mercy of the royal mail?. Ive been reading through the forums and various other sites (not as good as this 1!!) and i realise that spiderlings etc are well packaged by responsible,caring breeders,but as a potential owner who wants to do their best for their first tarantula (second & third possibilities already thought of!!!) can anybody please re-assure this over anxious newbie?

    I have 45 T's here and most of them came through the post with no problems. Some came as tiny 1cm slings and some much bigger but all faired well.
    I got 4 avic slings yesterday from Germany that were posted the Monday before. Thats the longest I have ever had to wait so naturally I was worried sick and expected to have lost a couple if not all 4. I unpacked them expecting the worst and the little slings shot out of their packing like little rockets lol. All 4 were a thirsty and a bit hungry but now that they have all been fed and watered they are webbing up nicely in their new homes.
    Normally my order arrives the next day and I have had no damage to T's that have come through the post to me so far.

      i dont think there is any problem with getting T's in the post
      once the sender is responsible and packs them correctly
      when they should be fine.
      its good to get next day delivery where available to
      be extra careful and it doesnt cost much.

      you can go on a mad spider spending spree
      from loads of different places and never have
      to leave your house.
      FANTASTIC.

      BTW there is no such thing as a stupit question
      we're here to share.

        Not had any problems yet, though I am sat at work still waiting for a delivery. I've been told they are en route, and should be here by 6pm. Well they got 35 minutes left! Just hoping the little fella's are ok. But as a rule all other orders have turned up ok. I've had a couple that have flicked loads of hair whilst in transit, and then got covered in it when I unpacked them! Itchy or what!

        wahey! Turned up ok then. Excellent news. A week in the post? and i'm fretting over 24 hours! lol.
