  • P.fasciata moulted this weekend

I came home on sunday to find the largest of my three P.fasciata slings had moulted successfully. My god these guys grow quickly! This one in particular has overtaken the other two and is now one moult ahead. Before the moult she had an enourmous abdomen (she was taking full grown cricktets by then!). After the moult it seems her(?) proportions have changed, with extremely long legs and a more sherical abdomen. The yellow and black markings on the forlegs are now very pronounced, and she spends most of the time out in the open where I can see her.

The only problem is she seems a bit too big for the three litre cereal container, I am considering buying her an exo terrarium to show off her full beauty - or making some custom spider tanks of my own using this link..

only thing is I am not looking forward to moving her!!

    nice one!
both of my P. striata have moulted fairly recently, one of them last week. they're starting to get bigger and are easily my biggest slings. both gorgeous when they're not hiding! was trying to show them off to a mate the other day, but they were having none of it!
speaking of hiding, i haven't seen my Malaysian earthtiger sling properly in weeks, though i thought i caught a glimpse the other day. And i caught sight of my two P. murinus slings just ducking into their hides last night, which was a relief. the ones that hide are such a cause of suspense and stress! the only evidence of their being alive can sometimes be that the crickets disappear...
...and the odd skin being cast out.
