    when the bug was fully growen they bit the head off my prying matice ?

    Scott, do you mean the bugs that meal worms grow into???? If so yes my bigger and hungrier spids will take them, my w/c marshalli loves them so do my w/c crawshayi's.

        They should be fine Scott.

        I throw half a hand full into each of my scorpion communal tanks, gives them something to dig for, plus they can scavenge for the pupae, what beetles end up emerging get eaten as well.
        ideal if you're going off on holiday for a week or two.
        Don't forget to learn what you can, when you can, where you can.

          I feed the various stages of mealworms to my Chinese Water Dragon and he loves every stage: worm, pupae, white beetle, red beetle, black beetle. If my memory serves me right the most fattening would be the worm and pupae but once metamorphosis has occurred the fat will be consumed leaving a protein rich beetle. In which case, I guess the beetles are better than the worms!
