    Hi Steve,
those Ornithoctonus are doing well. Only problem is I think one of them is too happy!

Talk about rabbit impressions! Trouble is I went and told the other one and now he's at it!

Is this species supposed to have a thing about burrowing?????
    All the best,
    Nicola

All (three) Ornithoctonus spp. are burrowers Nicola. Haven't seen any of mine in ages

        True

        O. aureotibialis are lovely spiders if you ever get to see them though

thanks lads, it wasn't so much the digging a burrow which confused me, more the fact that they like to build a mini-warren each! fortunately I have seen both of mine recently - late at night and, you've guessed it, earth moving. Still if they're happy! Thanks again

            Nicola
I have found such multi burrows in the wild, many a time I have been looking in one hole only to see the sneaky little git bolt out another.

It seemed to be the younger ones though and the adults just had lots of chambers to hind in.

They are great looking spiders when you do see them.... just enjoy your pet holes and the mysteriously disappearing crickets

            Regards
            Mark

Hi Nicola and everyone, yeh, they certainly like to dig!
You could always take the spades off them
I only see mine if I go into the spider room with the light out, using a torch. As soon as the main light goes on, they disappear!
Stunning colours as they grow (if you are lucky enough to see them!)
When they develop the gold stripes, they look fantastic!
