  • Check out my Nhandu Chromatus

    couldn't resist posting this.

I am just really pleased the Tarantula I chose first turned out to be this great.
I can highly recommend this Tarantula to anyone. It grows really fast, looks great and has got a good personality. Docile but not in the boring sit there like a rock kind of way

One of the reasons I chose the nhandu chromatus was because of its eyes. Some tarantulas can have really boring black eyes but this one has got really funny looking eyes. I can't wait to see what mine will look like fully grown as he is still quite small. Have a look at the picture

I agree, its a very unusual but addictive hobby.

Its just a shame they dont like being handled...

i have a couple of Nhandu coloratovillosus slings. they're still very small, though.
fairly active, though! if i get the lid off their tub, i have to make sure they don't dart out!

speed varies with feeding and temperature, i believe...
how often and how much are you feeding it? power-feeding is bad, but you may be able to step up the amount a bit...

                that sounds reasonable.

i dunno, it may just be that Nhandu's are fast growing compared to Aphonopelma sp, Grammastola sp and Brachypelma sp... i've got some "fast growers" who are still small after months (ie P cancerides), and some REALLY fast growers who have actually amaze me how big they are so soon after i got them (ie P striata and especially L parahybana).

                      Nice T's andy.

Do you think you can get a close-up of their eyes sometime...

I'm really interested cause mine looks like nothing I've seen before...

I did say I chose it for that reason but I'm surprised nobody has said anything.

i'll have to look closely at my two little NC's...see if there's anything weird about the eyes for them too

so without looking properly i thought that is kindof what mine looks like but obviously somebody had too much time on their hands.

I don't need some joker to take the p***!

My post is genuine and all you can do is play around.
