Hi Mathew
Its not always easy to sex a "T" from an external view even with a very good piccy the only cast iron way is from the shed skin and you need to look for the spermathecae on the inside for female spiders or the lack of these on males
this site gives some very good pics showing what to look for http://www.arachnofreaks.com/forum/f...p?TID=188&PN=1
Good luck with him / her

If the tarantula has matured, look at the underside of the pedipalps near the foot. If there is a red bulb on each pedipalp it is a male. Also if you look through the back issues of the BTS journal you'll find that Chris Sainsbury did an excellent write up last year on sexing tarantulas using shed exoskeletons after a moult. Hope this helps.sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!

Hi Matthew, How big is your spider (legspan)? If you can get a larger picture we can identify the species and have a better look. There is a great website called Photobucket and if you upload your pics onto there, you can then 'copy' and 'paste' them onto your posts here easily.sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!

If its body length then sure, it's large enough to be visually sexed from a moult. All those legs and not a pair of shoes in sight... Nice tarsus tho...
