Some cameras need a lot of extra light when in macro mode (if you're not using the flash) as they are only focusing on a small ( normally dimmer) area.
If you can use flash then the camera should sync a reasonable shutter speed to this so as to minimise movement blur etc.

      Thanks

Thanks again Cokin for the advice. I'll need to refer back to what you said when the time comes. I'll do my best.

        Colin, nice advice again mate.

Sounds a bit like premoult to me too. I would wait for it to moult which should happen in the next 2 weeks by your desciption and then take it from there. Don't disturb it too much for now.

Once it has moulted it will need a few days for its exoskeleton to harden. Then try feeding it again. I would not worry any more about it up till that time.

Thanks Tom. I know not to try and feed him for a week after he's moulted as his fangs etc aren't hard enough to eat with. Because he is so little I get so worried about him. Although he was dark he now looks lighter but as you and Colin said, I'll leave him be now.

As always Patsy, there's many many experienced people on here that may not visit the forum daily but check their emails and PM's several times a day and would be willing to offer advice.
if things get worrying then i, for one, wouldn't mind if you were to get in contact directly.

Thank you Colin, that's very kind of you. I might just do that and contact you directly if things are still the same after anoteher week but I don't want to make a nuisance of myself. I'm like a mum with a new baby worrying about him daily.

Sorry Patsy and Colin, my mistake. I thought it was a larger one.
