More feeding info wanted.

Something that just occured to me is methods of killing? I know that simply chopping the head of will leave the body kicking for abit, so best methods anyone can offer?

hehehe...yup, cut it into 3 or 4 parts....or take the legs off!

Louise, when feeding the full grown a baby mouse; is there usually a bloodbath? I mean, how does it eat the thing? And, do they tend to devour the entire cricket, or suck it dry??

Well...as far as mouse feeding...I don't tend to do that very often at all, it's one of those seriously *gives yer spidey an unnecessarily fat butt* type foods, so whilst you can give them occasionally, it's not recommended that you make a regular deal of it...no more than once a month; insecty bugs are better in the long run. Bloodbath...hmmm, I wouldn't say particularly that it is....but whatever is left isn't too pleasant as a rule!!
Crickets though...some spids make the entire cricket disappear, others leave legs, depends on the spid, but for those that gobble the lot, eventually a food bolus appears; a neat parcel of remains dumped in a corner. Mine usually lob it behind the water bowl!

U2, I knw I said an hour ago that I'm going to bed, but been reading 'A Million Little Pieces' - just finished it, it is really good!
Me being so thorough is down to a lot of people here; you being a majority (or at least a huge percentage of all the help I recieved). I think my mum may say yes to me getting one, cuz she said 'We'll talk about it when I get back' - now to me, that means 'We'll talk about it when you get back so that you can tell me a little bit more on it, but most likely, yes, you can have one'. My sister and my friend are determined to try and get my mum to say no though, my friend cuz she thinks it's disgusting and scary, and my sister cuz she thinks it's cruel and disgusting and scary too.

Feeding

Yes fruit flies are not much good, no where near as much nutrition as a cricket. I feed all my s/lings on the smallest crickets from pet shop, and they are quite happy on that diet and never any trouble at all.

Even my G.Rosea s/lings have them and there not a very big spider, in proportion to a L.Parahbana so would be no probs with bigger food items.

A little threshing around may very likely prompt the tarantula to attack it.

And don't worry about animal cruelty to the roach. Their nervous systems are so unevolved that they can't even be truly considered "awake" or "conscious." What you see is merely nerves twitching. What the tarantula sees is dinner a la carte!
