          I have these 3:
          1. Tarantulas and other Arachnids, Samuel D Marsall. Really enjoyable book wich includes collecting Ts and a good healthy species guide. 112 pages.
          2. The Tarantulas Keepers Guide, Stanley A Schultz. Still reading this and feel like I want to read it again. Very detailed, very well informed, mentions many other estemed researches, incl Breen & Bearg and yet suggests there's still loads more field work to be done. Big thumbs up for the heavyweight reader.
          3. Tarantula Care, Quick and Easy - Dr. Robert G. Breene - very quick introduction to Tarantula, easy to read and reasonable amount attributed to species. Great begginner guide. 64 pages.
What I'd really like to find is a comprehensive book solely devoted to the variety of species available. Its quite frustrating finding the T but not the precise info to individual requirements and characteristics.

Mygales by Jean Michele Verdez best book in French,

Check out the series of books by Boris Striffler in German, along with the latest from Peter Klass,

Vogelspinnen by Nederlof and Gortekaas, best in Dutch

Fugleedderkopper bySoren Rafn, i think is the only book in Danish,

If you have a good range of BTS journals there is tonns of information if them.

I only have The Guide to Owning a Tarantula by Jerry G. Wallis.

It's a very simple book covering the basics and has some stunning photography.

                  Arachnomania

One that you don't see too often but is pretty good is: Arachnomania; General Care and Maintenance of Tarantulas and Scorpions. By Philippe de Vosjoli.

It's one of the better books out there and the author has quite an eccentric writing style. Has a little bonus section on scorpions too if you're interested.

We should get together a shortlist or opinion poll of the best book out there...because to be honest; with Rays comprehensive list there I wouldnt know where to start! In my opinion the 'best' book would have to be the one that covers the most ground- from the basics right through to the advanced stuff like taxonomy and Biology. The absolute Wikipedia of Tarantulas.

Oh no Simon, we don't want a *Wikipedia*....we want it to be accurate
And you're right, 38 years i've been in this game and I wouldn't know where to start on Rays library, "comprehensive" seems like an understatement !!!

arg Wikipedia! a great resource at times, but when Johnny Depp can go in to correct errors in the article about him, and have it changed BACK to the erroroneous version not long after he's finished, we have scant hope of THAt being a consistently reliable tool. shame, as it's such a great idea, in theory! kinda like pure socialism lol

I will post the rest up later. If you add in all the Papers, newspaper cuttings and various spider related parephanalia you are right I dont know how we fit it all in. Sometimes I lose Angela for days in the East Wing of Haletowers.....LOL.
