one of my personal favourite genera is apparently in the same subfamily (if i got that right) as Pokies...that's Psalmopoeus. they're arboreal and fast, too...but the cambridgei is a mossy green, the irminia is black with orange stripes, like a reversed tiger just for two examples.

Just a few examples......lots of foliage and hiding places needed.

left: two small comunes, left fasciata / right regalis
middle: lots of foliage and tubes to utilise (this is 47 x 30 x 24 inches ready for 13 subadult regalis)
right: Some 2 inch slings, they seem happy enough

Thanks, they are a bit permanent, and i wouldn't like to disturb them too much moving them around.
All the rest of the pokies are in tall tubs or cereal containers......portable, stackable and spiderproof...what more can you ask for?

one thing you may be able to help me with, i am picking up some p.regalis slings. what the best way of keeping them at that size, what do they require?

You can either keep them in tubs, with the lid ventilated. These cost £1.00 for three at my local cheapo store.

Or set a 3ltr hatchling box on end. these cost around £1.50 - £2.00 if you buy them singularly (i think)

A small amount of substrate at the bottom and someting to climb on, and web behind and thats it really.
I dont use water bowls in them, i slowly dribble water down the side and into the substrate once a week, this keeps humidity and aids inm moulting. they will get all the moisture they need form the food they eat.
