It did Colin; well not really actually - sorry.
Lol I am always responsible for drifting off the subject aren't I? I do this a lot, sorry; but it is usually an interesting discussion! And I think I get that off my teachers, although it could just be me!
I am such a deep sleeper, I slept right through it. In fact, last night my sister apparently came into my room after realizing I was a sleep and I told her to go away, though I cannot recall one bit of it! It is weird how our body functions sometimes, and it is because of instances like these that I agree with scientists who say that dreaming is to clear unnecessary information out of our heads!
      Cheers,
      Rich!

        No worries matey,

you slept through it then, i was awake working, like i said i had three spiders fall off the shelf, luckily they were P murinus and the whole tub is full of webbing so i think they were cushioned well.

well you may be right...i'd heard that there weren't any nearby, though. but i could be wrong as well. it'll take a bit of research!
maybe it was a ley line quake instead we apparently have loads of those!

glad your murinus made it...they are a plucky and hardy species, that's for sure!

                He he he he.

couldn't be further away from spiders could we?

at least, in our defence, we're still on original (ish) topic

strange place for quaking, what with the lack of faultlines!!!
                  16 is a rough deathtoll
Yes, I remember that one, didn't feel it here in Maidstone - first we knew about it was when my mother-in-law rang from Ashford to inform us that she was okay and thanks for our concern (?) although friends of ours in Folkestone said that houses were affected structurally there - I think it caused a whole £5 worth of damage! (lol - couldn't resist).

                  Now back to Ts....

Lousie, what an awful experince you poor thing, you are in my prayers.

Unfortuatley I am guessing this is a risk unique to Ts in captivity, falling tanks I mean. I guess they would be okay in the wild unless shaken from a retreat above ground or in a collapsing burrow.

It would be interesting to know if they percieve quakes before they happen though - I know dogs are very good at this but unfortunatley their owners are often very bad at reading the signs PRIOR to the event! I wonder how they respond to such violent vibrations - they probably think it is one HUGE cricket heading their way (lol).

Thanks Tracy...I don't think any of the spiders behaved any differently to be honest, all were their usual selves, eating, grooming etc right up til the quake hit.
The only creatures that were *off colour* were my snakes...even my dog was his usual self...so no prizes there for being *sensitive* or *perceptive* on his part!! LOL
