I frequent an Omega watch forum and the guys over there keep posting pictures of Doxa and Seiko dive watches. And I would like one really badly. So I come over to this forum for some peace and what do I find? Pictures of a GBB, a spider I would really like to have too.

Why do the people on the forums I really enjoy keep taunting me with such beautiful things!! Arrgghhhhhh!!!!!

Don't be sorry. I love seeing this spider. The colours are just superb, even better than H. lividum if you ask me.

I see The Spider Shop has them in again

I'm very tempted, very tempted indeed. Just one big hurdle though. And if any of you ever meet my wife, don't tell her I called a big hurdle!

Got my GBB for £10 from my local retile shop but she's not as big as the ones on the link. I just saw my b.smithi actually eating for the first time. He's always eaten well but in his hide out of sight. I've had him 10 weeks now so I'm hoping he'll moult soon too and look more like a baby T rather than a little house spider!

              Congrats patsy,

              saphire looks amazing now.

I am really envious and I have got some myself lol, mine are still a moult behind yours though

That blue looks like it has got some purple in it too, would be cool if it got some purple colours going

She looks like she didn't mind beeing moved too much, I take it that it went alright?

Yes Tom, she stayed down behind the plant this morning and had a wash. She was there a good few hours. First time she has had her feet on the substrate too but now she has gone back up to the top again. She did go up a for a while this morning but came down by herself. I think she will web up the top again overnight though like last night. I saw her having a drink off the side of the tank too yesterday after I sprayed it. She seemed to be drinking forever! I did'nt know they could have a hint of purple too, just the blue I thought. I'm just well pleased to have seen her down from the top! See how the next few days go now. Glad you liked the pics.

Thought I'd bump your thread Patsy as my GBB has finally gone into molt. The signs have been there for a while, no eating and extended webbing. I took 2 crickets out at the weekend that had been hiding under her web, they'd been rather elusive tbh. I was just about to do a little feeding of some spids and noticed her on her back, woo-hoo. I'll not disturb her and hopefully find a brand new shiney spider in the morning or once we return from Colchester zoo.
Shame its so late as I'd love to watch her go through it.

I hope she came through her moult ok Peter? I'd love to see some pics when you can get some of her. Mine has a fat abdomen now and has been eating like a pig so I expect she will stop eating soon and another moult then. Exciting stuff is'nt it?!

One of my 4 just moulted this week too but unfortunately it is still not as big as yours patsy.

The only change I can see is that he has gone from a pale orange to a bright carrot coloured orange.
They are alot slower growing than my nhandu chromatus. Infact I think my brachypelma auratum is beating them growth wise .
