Cheers Louise. It's nice to hear I'm on the right track

I did dampen the boy's sub yesterday but all it's achieved is making the poor guy stick to the wall of his tank in a sulk. I think I will just let him be for a week and then try again. He's done a good job so far he doesn't deserve to be hassled too much

sounds like my Brachys. One whiff of water outside the water bowl and my B. bohemi is up the wall, as for the other two, they do it for fun. (I think my B. smithi (Rocky) is upset that I discovered he is a he at the last moult, so he's practicing night wandering in time for when he matures. By day he just sits there, pretending he's all shy).
sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!

You're welcome Kate...I told you that you'd be just fine!! And yup...after dampening the substrate, let things settle, he may sulk for a while...but they soon settle back down. Just allow that substrate to dry out between moisture-boosting, feed the lil guy well, blah blah you know all that bit anyhow! Keep us up to date on how your lady progresses over the next couple of months...it'll be funny if you and Tom end up with eggsacs at the same time. lol
