This weekend i was in a pet store picking up supplies, when I saw a little Zebra in a display. I had seen it before in this pet store, but last time I was there it (and all the other tarantulas) were gone. I had assumed the pet store decided not to sell spiders anymore. I remembered this particular Zebra, as it was missing one leg. Anyway, I was thinking of getting a second T as my Rose Hair has been a wonderful addition to the family, but I wanted to try out an aborrial species. When I saw this poor little Zebra, though, I couldn't leave it at the pet store. It is very thin. So I decided to take it home. After I set up the new home and was moving him/her in, I noticed that not only the front right leg was missing, but also the front right pedipalp! It also seemed as thought one of the other legs was leaking slightly. Needless to say, I have been worried sick about this poor T. I won't let my kids name it yet, just in case. It pretty much just hangs in the water dish all day and night. I am keeping the temp around 85-90F and the relative humidity right at 78%. I will post pics as soon as I can. Has anyone delt with a Zebra and tried to nurse one back to health? Can a spider eat without a front leg and pedipalp on the same side? Please help! Thanks for reading my long diatribe.

it's good the hemolymph has dried...if it's not leaking and getting enough food and water, it may do alright. with a few moults, i think it should regenerate the missing limbs as well...i think there are exceptions to this, depending on where the loss occured, but just keep up the water supply and food and cross your fingers.
others may have tips for what to do if it's still leaking.
hope you got a big discount, that's a shocking state for a spider to be in at a shop, poor thing!
good luck!Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.

How big is it? The fact it's lost a leg and palp makes me think it may be a mature male, can you see hooks or bulbs on its remaining front leg and palp?
Hopefully not, and it's just had a rough time. If it's drinking that's a good sign. A bit of TLC should help it recover and once it gets fattened up it will probably force a moult to get its missing limbs back. Good luck
