Which Avicularia are most scattered

Hello,
I have a question about Avicularia spp.
I want to know which species are most scattered in world trade.

Thats a difficult question really, though the answer at the moment has to be A. avicularia as most species we have in the trade are considered as variants of A. avic anyway. A. minatrix, A. versicolour, A. purpurea and one other I always seem to forget are seperate species but A. metallica, A. geroldi etc. are regarded as variants of Avic avic. Hope this helps.

Hi Damian,
The Iridiopelma I believe are a family in their own right (for example Iridiopelma recife) and the A magdelena has changed names a few times, now called A. juruensis . However basically yes, as things stand they are variants of A. avic until the taxonomy can be sorted out. There is a similar situation, though it appears not as bad, with Grammostola too, and I gather there is some taxonomical work going on concerning African species at the moment. Lots happening!

If you look at the Theraphosid Gallery on this forum you'll see what species are considered "pet trade" or "undescribed" for each Genus.
This is probably one of the most (if not The) up to date listing available for viewing

might have to bide your time on that and keep your eyes open. there are a number of traders that you can find if you do a search on this site.
also, the BTS show *might* have some. i wouldn't expect much, but you never know.
