  • B.vagans

Do all brachy's need the same amount of humidity? I've heard that the B.vagans need a bit more moisture than the B.smithi, is this right? I've been misting the sides of my B.vagans tank twice a week. Am I wasting my time and he's ok with just his water bowl? His substrate is bone dry all over his tank.

    Hi there,
    B. vagans come from southern Mexico, from Oxaca south to the Guatemala border really. Though not east into the Yucatan peninsula as far as I'm aware. You should be able to find climate conditions for the region online. Also look up www.brachypelmas.co.uk you'll find loads of good stuff there.

        Hiya Patsy...
I've got loads of the Vagans lurking here, and yup, higher humidity is preferable for them. But, I simply flood their water bowls once a week, and use peat moss mixed into the substrate to keep humidity comfortable for them.
