I'm in S****horpe and moving to Crowle next week. Crowle is right by Thorne and close to Stainforth, Hatfield, Edenthorpe and Armthorpe. The only shop I know in the region that sells tarantulas and exotics is J C Exotics in Lincoln.
I'm employed by DHL working for Argos delivering all the heavy stuff in Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, Doncaster, Selby and Goole. We often go down to Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham. I'm always keeping my eye out for new shops.
There is a place on Beverly Road in Hull that I'll like to take a look at to see what they do. There are two shops here in S****horpe that have exotics, but the only arachnids seem to be scorpions. If you venture over to Leeds, Paws For Thought on York Road have tarantulas and lots of reptiles.
I've not come across any in Donny though. I would suggest getting a Yellow Pages and just take a look through the ads for pet shops.
p.s. Where in Donny are you? Its handy to know if someone is close in case any tarantula sitting is required

Well I never! I've just had a look on my Tom Tom to exactly where this place is. I must have passed it well over a hundred times when I was a white van man. And no, I wasn't flying past at 100mph, I would have driven slowly as nearly all the properties have house names, often hidden well off the road and behind a hanging basket. I might be heading that way tomorrow (or at least I might make an excuse to head over that way ) and take a look. Thanks Stuart for the link.

Donny has a shop called (I think) 'Tanks a lot' in Bowers Fold, or whatever it's now called. I understand it sells both Spids and livefood, though I haven't been in myself.
Markham Grange Nursery also sells both. There is a reasonable slection of spids there, albeit typically overpriced.(Markham Grange Nursery Long Lands Lane Doncaster South Yorkshire DN5 7XB Tel: 01302 722390)

I've been to PFT a few times Craig. I know the area well. I've spent many a drunken night in the Irish Centre opposite. They have a very good selction of exotics. They had a beautiful Chile Rose when I was there last. Except they insist on calling it by its former name and not G.rosea

hi.. just posted about starting a group in south yorkshire if there's enough interest, i'm just outside rotherham and always go to sheff excotics or snake shop both on attercliffe, also if you are wanting a small but good selection of spiders to buy try mill gargen center in chesterfield (easy to find) also there in a small garden center that just off the run down from m1 to chesterfield center, you turn off left half way down but cant for the life of me remember what its called, but deffo tey the mill garden center cos there selection is a lot better, there is one called tanks a lot in donny but they didnt like me very much when i gave them my views on the conditions they had there spider kept in, very hot under lights and very very dry and some unhappy h.lividum's..
