i met with every enthusiasts worst nightmare this morning, i went to check on my Ts and one of my favourites, the b.albiceps had got stuck in a moult and died. it is one of the things that really irritates and upsets me the most.
i found the best possible way to cheer myself up though, i purchased a nice looking a.geniculata from mark pajak to refill the tank with. i cant wait to take delivery of this T as i think they are stunning

My sympathies over your Brachy, its not nice when a spider dies under any circumstance. Glad about your geniculata though to be honest I know little about them (other than they look great). Just out of interest have you thought of getting some H. schmidti? They're great spiders with bags of character, though they only tend to come out after dark. I have a male gold form and he's a right one. Named him Jack when he matured (after Jack the Ripper) but he's calmed down now. Just thought I'd mention them.

sorry about the albiceps mate!!! gutting...i lost one of my emilia recently to the same thing...her abdomen was still stuck, and by the time i'd found her she was already dead
genics are cracking spiders, though...so that's a nice bit of spider therapy!
hope you can get another albiceps soon though.

i was looking at schmidti a while back, is still a distinct possibility for a next purchase. it was well weird with the albiceps though, i tried pulling the remainder of the old skin off of her and noticed that she did not appear to be fully developed under her old skin, as if she moulted a bit too early. its well weird

i'm a bit bias cos i'm a Haplopelma and baboon fan, so i would deffo get a H.schmidti as your next T if you was thinking along those lines, mine only comes out after dark but then she's out, she's out all nite,wandering about, my next Haplopelma is gonna be albostriata.

Good choice Russ. If you don't mind the nocturnal living, why not try H. lividium? They're a cracking species and all this aggression stuff is mostly hype. H. schmidti ar far more "assertive" in my (albeit meagre) experience.

hay nicola...lividum's are great got 2 (1 lost a palp whch after 2 moults has almost come fully back) other one is stunning ,and there both very active at nite, got 1 minax too but noticed she's not as active as the others.. when the geniculata arives for matthew he'will be well impressed..

Sorry to hear about your Albiceps mate you showed my a pic of it before and it was a cracker.Glad to hear you bought a. geniculata of Mark I'm in the middle of purchasing the rest of the T's he's selling at the moment so I wish you well with the rest of your collection Matt.
