  • Spiders that web!!!!!!!!

Hi, I'm looking for some tips on aquiring a new spider to my small collection. I already have two T's, a Mexican red knee and a mexican Fireleg, but would love an attractive/colourful spider that would be on show and not hide all the time and would create a web in its tank, I have an idea that the Green Bottle Blue would be a good choice but would like to know if there are any othe spiders that fit the bill????????
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    hey Matthew

gbb is a great choice, they really web alot but i can always see mine
she sits right on top of all the heavy web.
my P. murinus (rcf) is also a heavy webber, but again she doesnt hide
too much and i can see her most of the time.
My P fasciata also webs up abit, she only runs to her hide when i
disturb her otherwise i get to see her alot too.

other than that i cant help none of my other spiders web much.

go for the gbb, beautiful spider, great colour changes as they grow
and just as you wanted they web alot.

    cheers.

If it's sheer amount of web you want you can't go wrong with GBBs. Both of mine have totally covered everything in their tanks with web and they are always visible, and just awesome spiders as well. Definitely one of my fave species.

Avics make some lovely suspended web structures if you give them the right kind of stuff to anchor it to. Mine has a fake leaf curled over at the top in its pot. It has made a cool web tunnel in the curl of the leaf and then a kind of spiral of anchor lines going from the tube to the sides of the pot. It's very pretty and clean. If you don't give them something to encourage a cool web tho they might just make a little hammock up in one corner so it's worth thinking about how to get them to web where you want.

Both these spiders are lovely. Personally I prefer the GBB but that's cos my GBB was the first spider I raised from a sling, and I've only had my avic for a few months. He is very cool tho.

Avicularia versicolor, beautiful T, mines only a sling at the mo, and has made some amazing web tunnels, is normally allways on show, and looks stunning.

I just picked up an indian ornamental today, Its only a young one but a beautiful looking arboreal spider which i am hoping will be on show as much as possible.
If anyone else has one of these and any tips on caring for them i would apreciate the advice.
