Lasiodora parahybana Caresheet?

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place

I've just been given an adult Lasiodora parahybana by my brothers girlfriend because shes just had a baby, and although its doing well, molts fine and feeds on mice, the problem is, it doesn't feed often at all.

She wants me to try getting it feeding so far, I'm giving it a rest from feeding for awhile and will try offering then, but I don't think the humidity has been high enough etc.


Has anybody got either alot of experience with their adult Lasiodora parahybana and give me general care info (I have researched..just want to make sure) or point me in the direction of a correct caresheet?

Hi,ive had a L.Para for about 5-6 yrs now.She can be quite moody at times but usually quite placid.i've kept her between 75-80 degrees and sprayed her tank 2-3 times weekly.I have had no problems with her at all and she's 9+inches in leg span

have you got any pics of her and her setup just so I can get a few ideas of how to set it up?

Another question, I've always used vermiculite per advise for my spiders, but NONE of seemed to like it, always climbing when they've had it so I've been using eco earth.

Has anybody else found this with their spiders before?

NOoooooooooooo !!!!!!!!

Nasty stuff by its self, its OK mixed in with peat or eco-earth to retain moisture but it is too unstable by itself for adults.

so I've been using eco earth

Great stuff Looks good, retains moisture well and rehydrates even better. Some people use garden peat but under a brown spider it looks horrible and also when dry it is extremely hydrophobic

I've had my female L para since Aug last year, now about 8.5 - 9 inch

I keep her in a Glass viv about 30" long by about 15" wide with a couple of logs to lurk on as she never goes inside / under them
temp about 80 deg in the day dropping to 70deg at night with a small daylight balanced tube for light to adjust for seasonal variation as my office at home faces north and gets no direct sunlight, substrata is about 6" of peat/coir mix but she never seems to dig at all.
She is without a doubt the strangest "T" ive had over the years with a pronounced personality change after each moult, at the moment she is going through another arborial stage webbing everything from floor to celing she is a fussy eater and will go for weeks without eating and then pig out totally for example over the last couple of weeks she would only eat the odd cricket sometimes standing up to allow them to walk under her then yesterday she went for it with a vengence and was eating as many crickets as I could pop in demolishing 15 large ones over about 5 hours. The main thing is she seems happy
