  • Birmingham shops

    Hi all,
We were hoping if anyone could reccomend any spider/reptile shops in the birmingham area. It's our wedding anniversary and are having a short break and thought we could check out any good shops in the area (who says romance is dead ?) Hope to hear from anyone who has any favourites in the area.
    Thanks, David

    Hi David,
I dont know of any spid shops unless Dan Parker has one as well as his online store. Happy anniversary though and enjoy your holiday. PM Steve McIntyre, he might be able to help.

Theres Penn Exotics in Penn, Wolverhampton, close to Brum. Sedgley Aquaria if it's still going, Trev got his first from there 22 years ago. Hollybush where Mike Connabeer works. One on the Stourbridge Road at Hagley is ok too I think. Those are what were going when we lived up there and I have used most of them.

        Hey David,

the only shop I can think of near Birmingham City Centre is Birmingham Reptiles and Pets; http://www.birminghamreptile.com It's on Slade Road quite near Spaghetti Junction on the M6. They used to have a second site in Selly Oak but think that closed last year.

I havent been for some time but last time I did they had two C.cyaneopubescens slings, a few avics, some pokies and some B.smithi. Although quite limited in floor space the back room is dedicated to 'exotic pets' and they have some lovely snakes and lizards, oh and the staff are friendly too.

There is also Shirley Aquatics http://www.shirleyaquatics.co.uk which is, as the name suggests, primarily a fish and aquarium stockist!! However they now have a small selection of reptiles (including baby yemen chameleons and a baby retic last time I went!!) but not much in the way of inverts.
