  • Cricket gut loading products

Does anyone use a gut loading product for crickets and other live food? I’ve seen a product called in T-Rex in my local pet shop where I brought my T. Any good or not worth bothering with?

    Thanks
    Alex.

    Personally Alex,

I don't use any man-made stuff like that. I'm sure people have used it without any problems, but for me, I think natural is best. I feed all my crickets and mealworms pieces of apple skin, sweet crunchy salad (£1 in Iceland for a bag, and you can eat it yourself too LOL) and cucumber which is great because they get water from it aswell, but you just have to make sure you don't give them to much and take any un-eaten food out after a day or 2 because it will go bad.

And the wee critters just demolish the salad, it looks like they are ready to burst, and so do my T's after chowing down on them!!! LOL

    Hope this helps,

    Michael..

I used to use fruit and veg but it goes bad so quickly that I got some bug-grub. The crickets seem to love it. They're all over it as soon as I put it in the kritter tub!

Fish flakes from work or Aldi, floating fish stick thingys too, funny to watch them run off with it. Fruit and veg and cereal too.

Good too know about the fish flakes will keep that in mind for when we run out of this stuff we got at present, especially when i can get 2 kilos of it for about 20 quid . Its great having a dad who has a animal business you get allsorts for cost price from the wholesaler including terrariums heatmats substrates etc

They loooove fish flakes and it's easy for them to eat. I gave some manky cherries to some crix a week ot 2 back, next day there were bare stones.
