  • Possible Phoneutria spp (Colombia)

    Hi all,

Looking for an I.D. on this photo if possible please. Also does anyone have any keys\taxonomical info for Phoneutria?

    Many thanks

Hi Rob, although I can't tell you myself try "The Tarantula Store". There's a couple of people there really into Phoneutria, just search the genus and their names are on the threads. Or you could contact the British Arachnological Society, try e-mailing Richard Gallon and he'll put you onto the right person. When you find out please let me know as the little critters really interest me. All I can say is that its pretty obviously Ctendiae (if I spelt that correctly. Also you might like to know that they discovered a new Phoneutria morph in Para recently, whether its (finally) the elusive fera or a nigroventer variant I'm not sure. I'm sure someone will tell you all about it!
    Best wishes
