Hi Michael, congrats on your new T! Your enclosure looks great!! I'm sure he/she will be very happy. I've got a couple of T's arriving on thursday. Can't wait. A 9cm N.Chromatus and C.Cyaneopubescens sling.

I'm new myself. I've got an Adult chile rose. Had her for 5 or 6 months. Finally been able to convince the fiance to let me get some more. She's gone from been wary to tolerant to enthusiastic so I can see plenty more coming my way! Whats your other T?

I'd quite like to get some arboreals soon but I want to get some experience with some of the faster terrestrial species before I move onto the ones that are more likely to be near to lid, hehe! Is your miranda a nervous speed ball or is she calm? Its amazing the differences you see between individuals.

To be honest Craig, if you're wanting an arboreal then go for a sling and you will become accustomed to it as it grows.
It would only really be a bit of a shock if you went and bought an adult and had no idea of what to expect.
Do a bit of research using the forum and ask a few questions and you'll be ok me-thinks

Yeah, roses are brilliant things. Mine has her moments though, lol. She can get cranky at times. You really get to know what kind of mood they're in when you get to know them.

I'm considering getting an A. Versicolor sling soon. From what I've read and heard it seems that would be a good starter arboreal. They look so cute as little blue slings too
I've got some sling pots coming from www.thespidershop.co.uk so I may get one sooner rather than later.

with Avics, just be extra observant of the temp, humidity and ventilation, they are a little delicate when very young i find...pokies are a little more rugged and will tolerate a lot more variation in climate.

Hi, P.mirandas are lovely creatures. The females are really laud back but the males are really lively. Just one quick thing I've picked up along the way. P.mirandas tend to be more fussy over lighting than other species can be, so keep her dark (she,ll love it). Have fun, you've got a lovely spider!

Thanks for the advice. Is there any pokies you'd recommend as good starter species or I guess more importantly any that I should avoid, hehe.

I suppose regalis, fasciata, formosa would be fairly good to start with due to wide availability and reasonable cost really.
