    You will know James, when the moult is imminent, the bald patch will go a blue, black colour, then it's only a matter of a day or two.

    Don't worry about the abdomen shrinking a bit mate, coming up to a big moult, the tarantula pumps more haemolymph (arthropod blood) to its whole body, increasing the pressure in the exoskeleton to bring on the ecydsis (moult).

      Cool. Been a bit worried about it but obviously nothing to worry about then. She seems to be drinking plenty and I know they have the ability to fast for months without any problems.
      Thanks for the info. If she moults it will be interesting to see how much she'll grow by. she's a fair size already.
