  • Surprised at quickness of moult

Our big L.Para moulted overnight, but I was surprised at the quickness between her abdomen going black to the actual moult. Our slings usually moult within a week or so of going dark, but as this one was 6" premoult, I assumed it may take longer, and wasn't expecting a moult for a few weeks. Oh, well, you never know

Also, she is 100% a girlie and now a lovely 7" chunky spid

Maybe she was in a hurry!! there's nothing wrong with that as long as the tarantula has had a healthy moult!

Thanks guys. I'm glad actually. We had her in Feb and she has only eaten about 4 crix and one locust since we had her. The previous owner was feeding her alot of pinkies. I'm hoping she will eat alot better now, when she's hardened up

We also had a NCF G. Rosea from the same owner at the same time, who ate her second cricket last week. I'm not worried as I know how Chile's are. My RCF is very unpredictable food wise too, but eats more than her. Maybe she will eat slightly better after a moult too!
