    Think she's going to moult?

She hasnt eaten anything for about two months now. She isnt interested in the blacks that pass her by. She just moves out of the way, or if they get a bit aggressive, she swats at them until they go.

I tried leaving her for a couple of weeks (a few weeks back) without any food and then put a cricket in. She didnt eat it and it just died. Maybe she bit it or maybe it was just not that fresh, I dont know.

Anyway, thinking she was going to moult, I've kept it fairly warm in there and the humidity is okay. No mould now or anything.

She has a water supply and she occasionally steps in it. Apart from that she looks fine. Nothing oviously wrong, she can move fine although she is a bit slow lately. She's also not shrivelled up or anything, looks the same size as normal.

I know all these signs can point to moulting, it's just that she hasnt done it at all and it's been about two months since her last feed (at least a month and a half. Think it's two though).

She's only moulted once since I've had her (last November) and I dont think she's a full adult yet as she's not all that massive. Anyway, didnt take her as long that time to moult from showign the early signs.

Soooo, do they take longer to moult as they get older, or is there something else I should be looking out for?

Oh and one last thing. Although she didnt eat a cricket, I *think* she did eat a single woodlouse lol. Not sure she went for much of it though as the majority of it was intact. I can tell when she's eaten at it and it's not just dead, cos it looks all disgusting like the leftovers of something from a horror film lol with bits stuck to it and it's all black and stuff.

    What species is she?

It could be an impending moult, or it could just be fasting.

        What species is she m8?

Yes, tarantulas moult less frequent the older they get. I would say she is in a stage known as pre-moult, which can be anything from 1 week - 3 months with big tarantulas. I'm gona guess that your tarantula is a type of brachypelma??? Am I right?? They take forever to moult, my sub-adult female b.vagans moulted about a month ago, and she hadn't moulted in nearly 3 years!!!! And she was off her food for nearly 8 months before she moulted.
So am I right, is she a Brachypelma???

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it in that case. Brachys don't do anything in a hurry

Rofl, she certainly doesnt You know her well then???? :P

Me and my girlfriend are always laughing at her. Seems like there's a little raincloud above her head all the time. Doenst do anything that quickly and doesnt like anything in the tank that isnt firmly rooted down

I'll keep an eye on her then for the next week or so and see if she does anything different.

Yeah lol she is. She isnt quite adult yet I dont think. She looks big if she stretches all her legs out and stuff, but in reality she's quite small. From head to toe, definitely no bigger than my palm, maybe a bit smaller.

Matt, my smithi is doing the exact same thing. Even down to the woodlouse! Slow, not eating etc etc. I'm just keeping an eye on her bald spot for the impending darkness to arrive. If she is consistent with her moults, one should arrive by the end of the month at the latest.
