  • Does Air fresheners and T's go together?

    Hello all,
Can anyone tell me if they ever use those 'airwick express' air fresheners that self spray every 5,15 or 25 mins in the same room as their T. I have used them in the past to cut out dog/cat odours and they really work well. I do not want to use them now that I have my T in case they harm her. Can anyone help? Have you used them? If not the same room would they be ok for the next room or even up stairs? Help!

Not sure about that particular brand, but I'll relate the time I went to collect a hive of honey bees in my car.

To cut a long story short they escaped within the car as we were driving along. After getting most back in the hive we were told to open an "air freshener" to kill the ones still buzzing about the car. Trust me - this thing was as effective as fly spray!! And put me off using them ever again.

However the EU has since banned many insectacidal chemicals, so perhaps the new ones are so leathal? If in doubt phone the brand's customer service line and enquire about it.

    Cheers,
    Richard

A car full of angry bees Richard? That sounds like fun

Neutradol is very bad for reptiles so we won't have it in the house, we also won't touch air fresheners as we have tropical and marine fish and if it gets in the water it's bad news.

I'm not sure about the chemical content of the air freshener sprays and their possible effects on spiders, but personally I wouldn't chance it.

        Hi Lisa
I use them in other rooms in the house bathroom lounge etc but not in the office where the spider lives and they don't seem to have affected her at all
and its a bungalow so all on the same level

but you could check out the range of the airborn droplets from the spray the other thing to consider is the size of the "T" in relation to amount spayed ie big spider no probs little sling would get a bigger dose if you know what im geting at

its just as lethal to our tarantulas too...
Never use any air freshener with that listed as an ingredient.

          Cheers
