  • A.geniculata eggsac questions

How long will take to a A. geniculata to lay the sac after mating?
She was mated on 15 april...

I have heard that this species lay eggs after 7 months... is this true? Is someone with experience that breed this species?

    Thanks

Hi Vasile , I can only tell you my recent experience with genics as it is my first attempt at breeding any of my T's.
I managed to get a successfull mating on the 11th July, and she started laying a mat for her eggs on the 12th September and finaly laid her sack and sealed it up on the 14th September.
As you can see yours was moulted before mine(quite a while before) so perhaps the pairing wasn't successfull or possibly due to temp etc gestation may take a little longer, some of the more experienced keepers may be able to help you more.
Is your female showing signs of being gravid??

      Thanks for your reply!

I think she is gravid... after the mating she eat 2 adult mices and over 30-40 adult dubia males... I have saw obese abdomen at her... but not so huge... is like a monster!

The temp is around 22-24 Celsius...

What do you think? Should I put a heat mat on the side of her terarium?

      Thanks!

I'm not surprised that she has a large abdomen if she has had that much food, whether she is gravid or not.

        Good luck with her though
