I have a mature female 2" and just recieved 5 sub adults one of which has hooks ect he's about 1 1/2" since i'm a newb at this is the male ok to mate or just leave it till later.
Placed his tub next to female and she was drumming away where the male was just doing nothing just walking around.
Any advise you can give would be appreciated as i dont want to place him with her and she goes for him.

    Hello,

i bred mine in plastic boxes 12cm wide 15cm high and 20cm long, with about 5cm of substrate and a piece of bark lying on top of the substrate.

let the female get established, then introduce the male MAKE SURE BOTH ARE WELL FED, i have had females eat males and I have also had a male attack and eat the female,

Give the male a few days with the female, then remove him,

feed female very well (maggots are/were my prefered food of choice for these) and after a few weeks you will find her draped over an eggsac (insome cases it looks like her tarsus do not touch the ground).

a few weeks after that lots of spiderlings around 3mm in diameter which are easy to care for as they will feed on defrosted microcrickets (get tub of hatchling black crickets, put in freezer, take out enough to feed the spiderlings, put back in freezer)

after 2-3 moults they are big enough (to see LOL) to take squat maggots,

    Hope this helps

My female is in a medium Exo Terra Faunariums she's been in that for about 2 months plus so she's established in that but since i'm leaving sac with mum will transfer her to box as you said thats if mating goes ok.

I did place him next to her and she began drumming so recon a good sign i also have a further 4 out of them i recon three are female as there rump is fairly large about width of carapace even wider and thicker and there about 1 1/2" possibly little bigger but i dont think ready yet but heard sub females you can mate so possibly try them also with him. in a week or more.

As for large female she's been well fed on 2 maggots large about 2-3 days ago so will set her up in new home and feed her in about 5-7 days then introduce male.

        Update

I dug mum up today and she put a good fight with the egg sac.

Opened the sac to find full of stage2 and no eggs just stage two's not counted them but at a guess would say 100+.

As you can see from pic i took with cam this afternoon
