  • Spiders (et al) invade the UK

I thought this was quite interesting in light of current threads concerning tarantula arriving in grapes/bananas/buckets of ice.
BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

I also took a visit to the local woods and discovered large amounts of Harlequin ladybirds, the aggressive foreigners. I discovered tarantula don't have any interest in eating them.

So, in light of the recent Pokie thread, when are we going to see Pokie communities in the UK?

we are over run with tube web spiders (Segestria florentina) here in Bristol they have been here for well over a few centuries. As with most port areas in the South West.

We also have a lots of False widows in fact I have only just got rid of a load from my kitchen when I put some new units in..

Have not had chance to get to the local woods to see how the Poecilotheria colony is going..

    Cheers
    Mark

not to mention the abundance of S grossa, Wes
can't wait to get to Bristol and see some S florentina! nice looking spiders.

are they as "aggressive" as advertised?

silly Colin! Dysdera crocata is a spider, not a sausage! if you wanted sausage you should go to the butcher!
