Dont keep P. rufialta at the same temperatures as the others they require it much cooler.
Also there is to much ventilation on the cerial containers, and you need to darken up the back end giving them somewhere dark to hide.

When I worked on adapting these for containers for spiders the reason i did not drill/melt holes all over the container but just ventialted the the lift of part of the lid with a piece of fine (stops Phorid flies getting in) car body repair gauze (one £1.29 sheet does 6 lids) is that the holes allow phorid flies (which MAY spread nematode infections) easy access from container to container, and (with a deeper substrate of re hydratable coir) helps to control the increase and decrease in humidity helping with the climatic triggers for eggsac production.

P.rufilata always are in darker side of the container ... so everything should be OK. I did a very good ventilation because i dont want that my Pokies will died like P.smithi a few months ago ...
      Thanks Damian

Well its up to you, you have emailed me and said the P. rufialta are not feeding, try lowering the temperature, the pictures of your P. smithi before it died looked like it was living in a swamp it was to wet.

Using containers as described above i have bred all the Poecilotheria sp (except tigrinawesseli) multiple times, and reared a few thousand young, so you do what you think is best.

For me the best solution is to listen to experts such as you Ray. By listen you Ray I know how to keep Pokies in the best conditions...
          Thanks Damian

i have in the past used heated cabinets, but I have found that a heated room works best for me, i position the spiders to what conditions they require accordingly in the room, i.e the spiders that like it cooler are lower down etc. i have a heat pad set up in the room for aditional heating for those that require it (mainly snakes and lizards). also i have night time drops in temperature and at this time the heating goes off completely for a number of hours (except the heat mat of which is on constantly).

above all it is personal preferance, but listen and take advice from the old hands in the hobby as they have learnt from their and others mistakes and perfected what works for them
