  • Knickers In A Twist

    Hi once again!
I am getting my knickers in a twist over the size of viv to get for a Goliath Pink Foot. I am opting for 24x15x15inches (lxbxh). I want to get this right.
I feel that this could be big enough but I am open to suggestions. I have asked this before but I am finding it hard to make up my mind. I am getting my viv very soon.

Hi Andrew, what size is the spider? If its an adult then I would think that tank would be a good size

I'd say that was ideal, especially if you intend purchasing a reasonably sized Goliath.
I currently have 3 3" slings in small pet-palls. I'm keeping their enclosures fairly small at mo because I was told you need to get them up to 4" by making sure they get their food before you're in the safety zone.
I keep mine fairly moist but not sopping wet, with a good shelter, peat/vermiculite/sphagnum moss substrate and a healthy amount of cleaner insects to cut down on any mites and mould.
Once you've decided on the size of tank you'll need to figure ways of maintaining the humidity and not drying out too often.

        Hi Andrew
That should be fine for a Goliath I have my ( 9 inch) L para in a 30 x 15 x 15 viv and she uses all the space now with room for future growth over the next 20 years or so

Good luck with the new "T"

I keep my apophysis in a tank 12" x 15" x 36". I've found, although not mature, he doesn't go on many "excursions" though and tends to stay around his cave. The sizes given should be ok.
