temperture

the temperture in my smithi's
tank is sitting between 60/70 I've read that it should be between 75/90
I have a heat mat under the tank on polystrene which is the right size to sit right up on the glass of the bottom of the tank. how do i raise the temperture.

Hi Vincnet, try putting your heat mat on the back of the tank making sure it has good contact, T's seem to prefer back heat, we look for a temp around 22c to 25c in the tanks.

hi peter i read your thread and it seems the best location for the heat mat is on the side of the tank.thank,s for your help and advice.

you should always keep heat mats on the back or side of tanks, this way the T can mave away frm the heat if it gets too hot, and Ts have a tendancy of burrowing when they are hot to cool down, if the heat mat is at the bottom, they cannot escape the heat

just to let you know that I just moved there heat mats to the side of there tanks,
When all of a sudden i heard a funny noice you'll never guess what well they was having a party i just happened to hear the words "yipee he's still learning but at least he's trying "
