        Hey

Thanks for the positive & negative comments

She is not wild but a very much loved partner

While I own two Pythons I'm new to owning Tarantulas I admit .
It was not my intention to take her out during a molt .
I took her out & lied on the front lawn with her as I always do ,
when I noticed the top part of her outer skin move ( Cephalothorax I think ? )
I decided then not to move her & just stay with her as she rolled over to take some pictures to record the event .

Working in a Morgue I totally understand how easy life is taking away .
So in no way was I going to leave her to fend for herself !!

Why some more experienced Tarantula members might flame/pay me out or roll there eyes at me in disgust which I can understand to a degree .
I learned something which is the process of making me a better owner .

I posted merely to share my joy not cause outrage .

She is a very much loved new addition to the family

        Cheers

We all make mistakes Jonathan, but as long as we learn from the experience then all is not lost. We all live and learn

It is simply that a spider is at its most vulnerable during and immediately after a moult, so naturally people will be curious as to the location of the spider during the moult itself.

By the way, there will be no flaming on here. Constructive criticism maybe, but personal attacks are not tolerated.

yeah that's cool Jonathan...i think we were just trying to point out that you might get some comments on it. i was reasonably sure you hadn't bothered the spider unnecessarily, based on how she obviously moulted just fine!
and that makes perfect sense how it happened! it's good you explained though.
i wouldn't say you caused outrage lol...just a few friendly warnings about what can happen on less friendly boards really, as Phil says anything not constructive would be removed.

but regardless of that, the pics are great, and it's a fascinating process to watch! she looks like she came through it just fine, so i'd say that's testimony that she's doing well in your care.
next time she moults, see how she gets greyer and tattier, and if you can see her abdomen under the hair at all, it'll get very dark, almost black when a moult is due.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars... Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
