    Colin's asked me to say his internet is down at the moment. apparently they can't give a repair date, something wrong with the cable in the road.

          I think he is allready Phil, still lets hope they get it fixed real soon!!!! when it was ntl it seemed a better response than Virgin when it is a cable issue one department seems to think that it is the others. But I will pass on your message.

            Back on, typical Virgin media behaviour.

            Phone call 1: your connection shows a fault
            Phone call 2: you're in arrears with payment, eh? direct debit...hello!!!
            Phone call 3: here's your service fault reference number should you wish to call and check on progress
            Phone call 4: you still haven't paid ??? eh?
            Phone call 5: it's all fixed though you won't be able to get on till tomorrow....hmmmm
            Email this morning says if i'm still having problems to email them back with the details....classic!!!

              in all fairness Colin, be thankful you're not on Tiscali...i can't even describe how bad their "customer service" is...they say one thing, then when you follow that, you find out it's wrong, meanwhile getting shunted from department to department being told at every stage it's not them, and it's an expensive number, too!
              so glad i left...we're with Orange now, one of my housemates got a deal for free internet. however, i have nothing to use it with, besides my DS. so all my posting, same as the last couple months, continues to be from work. not the best!

              glad you're back online and it didn't take long!

                yay colin's back. glad you got it sorted out

                We had fun with talk talk when we first got on line... turned out the original engineer had been knitting with the cables at the phone exchange hahaha! It took the new engineer 3 hours tracing wires etc etc. He looked rather miffed when he came back to the house to see if all his hard work had been worth it!

                anyway good to see you back colin

                    I can sympathise with that. Thats who I'm with and they've been shocking from day 1. My 12 month contract is up now so I'll be looking to move somewhere else. I have to speak to an average of about 4 people with each phone call and none of them can solve your problem. Once I got a letter sent out telling me I didn't have a BT phone line so they couldn't connect me - I was already connected at the time (with a BT phone line). It's so frustrating!

                    Anyway, glad you got you net back up and running Colin. I couldn't live without it, lol!

                              they are terrible! something about their software didn't "mesh" with the BT line either, so we ended up not being able to use our landline in order to have internet and telly. the time we got the landline to work, it cut off the net, so the choice was obvious... oh and then the time our set top box died, and it took them over a month (not to mention more than £10 of credit on a mobile) to fix it!!!
                              avoid tiscali like the plague!!!
