hello everyone dont know if i have posted on the right part here but im getting desprate i am new to kepping of spiders and have a chille rose who hasnt eaten for about 5 months now and i am getting a bit worried she seems healthy but refuses to eat and just runs from her food when its put in.
i have read that they can go long periods without eating but is it normal for them to go this long ?

G rosea can be a pain and sometimes do go without food for months.

How long are you leaving the cricket in her enclosure with her ?

What does he abdomen look like has it gone all skinny or does it still look normal?

I suspect she will due a moult then if she still looks plump im sure it will be nothing to worry about

Just do the usual thing with feeding shot her one in early evening and if she hasnt taken it by the time you go to bed take it out incase she moults through the night.

When they are that age they tend to moult once a year, be sure not to give her any food for at least a week after she moults.

Hope this helps ...and im sure someone will correct me if im wrong lol

Hi Bill, nowt so queer as a Chili Rose, ours stopped eating for 8 months, no moult, then just started eating again, and all that time maintained a decent sized abdomen, so I would'nt worry too much, just keep trying her every 2-3 days with food, remove if not eaten overnight,

I've had a G. rosea not eating for several months too. Nothing to worry about as long as she is looking OK

The only thing I'd mention further is make sure she's got access to water.

Females i've had have gone without food for well over a year with no problems and i have a male knocking around that has lived on only water for nearly three years now since he matured...he looks damn good on it too...all be it he has his pipe and slippers now at a friends house for his retirement.
Like Phil says the most important thing is to provide water for the spider and don't worry too much they have food shortages in their natural habitat that well exeed what we would think possible for them to survive.
