  • My Grammostola chalcothrix final moult

    Hi everyone,

Well today i was lucky or should i say privileged to watch one of my T's moult in full view from start to finish for the first time and what a pleasure it was indeed!

I knew a moult was imminent and after getting the kids ready this morning went back into my bedroom and did my usual check on all my T's to see him laid on his back motionless.

It took over 4 hours before he started to begin to free himself and it was truly amazing to watch. To see his fresh new ivory fangs and then see his new fluffy self

I already new he was male and when he finally got the energy to flip back over onto his feet it was then i noticed he had become ' A MAN ' lol tibial hooks fully visable and impressive they are lol. So hopefully we can find a lady and get him ' pimped out ' lol.

Ive attached some photos.... not brilliant but the best i could do without disturbing him.

    Lynn

What great news! All he needs now is a nice lady friend to keep him in check!
A, abdomen, abstain, ace, advantage, aegis, ajar, aluminium, ambidextrous, angel, angle, ant, aphid, apple, Arachnida, arachnology: an awesome activity!

Hi Lynn, good to see he's out safely, it's always fascinating to watch no matter how many times you see it, and luckily he did it in the open as you were able to get some pics.
