B.smithi coming soon

i have a 3cm B.smithi coming soon just wondered what the best setup,would be.And how often should it be feed it thanks inadvance gary

hi gary, firstly can i say what a fantastic choice of tarantula, i love this species. as for the set up, with mine i have a coir/vermiculite mix substrate which i keep dry. once or twice a week i spray one end of the sunstrate with water and have a coffee lid water dish in the corner. i have a flowerpot as a hide and thats about it. b.smithi come from a fairly dry area of mexico so aslong as its tank reflects that, you should be fine. as for feeding, i feed mine once a month but everybody has different opinions on feeding frequencey, you will find one that best suits you and your T

Hi Gary, I would say with a small Smithi I would offer it food every 5-7 days, they've got some growing to do in the early days, and don't put it in a high tank then it will hopefully avoid injury in a fall, and as Matthew says they are happiest kept on dryish substrate, good luck with it.
