can any one tell me which is the biggest known grammostola?is it aureostriata?or the species traded as iheringi(entre rios red rump)?-or is it neither of these?

I believe it is the Chaco Golden Knee Grammastola aureostriata. Gentle
giants apparently, though I've not kept them myself...

thanks for that Andy-that's what i thought, but 2 articles i've read (1book,1website) implied that the entre rios (g.iheringi) is biggest-however, Neil Little who keeps both species assures me that iheringi, although big, isn't as big as aureostriata.i've now ordered 1 of his chaco's!

Wouldn't mind getting a couple of those myself, have a soft spot for the Grammastola genus as, like a lot of us I guess, G spatulatus was the first Tarantula I got and first ( and only) one I bred as well.

              Cheers Steve, have PM'd Neil....

That's the only drawback of joining the Forum, you keep seeing and reading
about Tarantulas you just gotta have........ : )

I've got a few of these as Slings. I can't wait until they start to get a little larger - they are about 2cm at the moment and not really showing much signs of their adult colouration yet. They seems like fantastic spiders when fully grown.

[Edit] Of course, I should say i've got some G. aureostriata.
