  • B schroederi leaking??

My B schroederi keeps leaving drops of clear fluid on the side of its potaround the area of its fangs, could it be venom? The only other thing I can think of is that it's somehow managing to accumulate condensation with its fangs.
It's a juvenile about 4cm - and damned feisty! It feeds well and seems fine so Im not worried just puzzled as the books don't seem to mention this phenomenom

I observed my A. versicolor doing similar recently, something I've never seen. It produced clear liquid from its mouth in several spots around the tub. I'd be interested to hear what people have to say about this.

Tarantulas in common with other spiders don't eat solids, and they produce fluid which is used to flush out their mouthparts and avoid blocking their 'filters'. Could it be that?

That's interesting, we've got two B. Smithi that do that regular?
