  • Could this be stress??

    Hi folks,

Well thanks for giving me suggestions to my last post.

I have a question, I have a Mex Red Knee juvie and it appears to have lost hair from its 'back-side', at first I thought it had injured itself, perhaps it had I am not all together sure, but it is loosing some hair from that area, I can see the pinkish skin showing through. The other morning I discovered it had been caught by its foot on the mesh cover and it was hanging and could not free itself, I am not too sure how long it was hanging for but I am sure it may have caused my T to be stressed.
What I really need to know is, should I be worried about this slight hair loss, another thing, the mesh is now covered and it wont be able to 'hang' anymore.
I look forward to reading feedback.
    thanks.

Nothing to worry about this just loss of the urticating hairs.
These are lost when the tarantula gets disturbed they brush there back legs
Over thier abdomen and send up cloud of these hairs as defense.

They also fall out naturally when the tarantula is getting ready to molt check the bold patch this will go from pink to a dark black.

Check out the beginners guides on the BTS web site, they can found from the links on the home page.

    Cheers
    Mark
