    too old

    Hi all,

    Can anyone tell me please, I have been given a 15 year old G. Rosea, is she too old to mate? I would like to give her a chance if its safe for her to reproduce as I dont like to think of a creature spending its whole life never meeting another of its own kind or having the chance to experiiance mother hood in the case of a female.

    Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm planning on breeding from my 18+ year old in the near future John. If she
    looks in good health and is feeding well I wouldn't be worried that she's too
    old. Not entirely sure of the longevity of the Chile Rose but reckon females will
    reach 20-30 years, so she's hardly even middle aged......

      Hi John, welcome to the forum. My female is at least 15 years old and still looking healthy, a huge abdomen, etc. I'm planning on breeding her as soon as I get a male. Just wondering if anyone has (successfully) bred an older Chile or indeed any other species?

        Thanks for the info guys, I will give it a go as soon as she is well rested an fed after her moult, I have a MM G. Rosea at the shop I work at.
