  • An observation that puzzles me!

Last night before bed I was watching my Mature Male Cyriopagopus schioedtei struggle to get a grip on the side of his enclosure. Then i realised that every Mature Male i have had so far has lost his ability to climb vertical sides even the arboreal species have struggled to do so. I was just wondering why this is as when they were sub adults and smaller they were up and down the sides like mad.

Would be interesting to know that Matt because one of my Avic sp MM struggles and spends alot of time on the bottom of his enclosure

      it's because males can't multi-task hahaha
sex on the brain + climbing = no chance!

              lmao ..trust u Lisa

Matt do you think it it could depend on how long since the male matured? as in if hes getting towards the end of his days he could be weaker?

Possibly. But he has just recently moulted and i have seen it in a few of my MM who have lived for months after they lose there ability to climb .

i haven't tested him on properly on anything smooth, but my gigantic 7" MM P cambridgei seems to be able to climb ok!

Both my mature male Hapl. schmidti and my A.avic could and can climb perfectly well.
