Hey craig, which particular Euathlus sp. are you on about? I have the Euathlus sp.Montane (velvet mountain beauty)..Im also a fairly new beginner with tarantulas and have found the Euathlus an fairly easy spider, but being only recently brought into pet trade(?) not too much info on them. I personally keep mine similiar to the G.rosea. I have found it will exhibit some arboreal tendancies and will web quite a bit. Seems to do well in the lower 20c's.
personal experience with those is that they are very skittish, but not defensive. their conditions are pretty forgiving, dry and cool, being from Chile and all.
sometimes go off their food though, can be a bit stressful.

The other spiderlings ive got where quite quiet when first in the there homes, this little guy was totally different-really active and took food straight away and can defo see arboreal side to them already too.
i have a adult female euathlus sp "red" and she is very calm and docile as was the adult male that i had, on the other hand i also have a sub adult male euathlus sp "blue" and he is a bit skittish
