    hi guys, checked on my b.smithi today as she has just moulted and noticed a strange mark on her abdomen. it wasnt there before the moult and it looks like it might be quite sore, i have never encountered this problem before with any of my Ts. can anybody tell me what it is and wether its anything to worry about

    hey there matthew-me got a b.smithi too and think she's moulting at the mo cause have'nt seen her for ages. it looks like your spider has had a bit of trouble with its moult maybe due to a low humidity-i try to keep mine at around 60% to 70% now,had a little trouble trying to get it down tho!!!! check your humidity tho cause it looks like its stuck and caused it to pull to much off.hopefully it should calm down in a few weeks and will deffo heal with its next moult.

      thanks for the response daniel. all my brachys are kept at oround 55% humidity, never had this problem before

        Less blurry picture please. Looks almost like a slight rupture. Can't tell for sure though.

          problem all sorted now, she had a couple of dry cuticles when she moulted, resulting in some of her new skin being pulled off. have dabbed the wound with petroleum jelly and there is no weeping. have kept her water up to help replace any lost hemolymph, hope fully she makes it to her next moult and repairs herself
