  • not eating after moult

Hooray, after 4 and a half months of waiting my little girl decided to moult on my birthday last week. She emerged all shiny and colourful from her moult! She is a little b smithi who is now about 4 inches in size. I waited a week before trying to feed her. After her previous moults she has been ravenous and scoffed everything I gave her but this time she has refused her favourite crickets two days running. Yesterday was 7 days after her moult and I tried her again today but no joy. She comes over to have a look but quickly backs off. I'm just a bit worried. She looks great but her abdomen is obviously small after the moult. She is moving about ok but refusing her food. Has anyone else experienced this? Have I tried to feed her too soon? Thanks guys

hi greig i would say you have nothing to worry about as my young smithi molted last month and didn't take any food for just over two weeks.they can be quite a worry at times but more often than not all comes out well in the end. give her another week and see what happens. if she still dont start eating prehaps you could try offering something different for her to try but im sure she'll be fine just make sure she has fresh water available.
